What is the Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP)?
The Rest and Restore Protocol ( RRP ) is a listening system which works with the Autonomic Nervous system (ANS) inviting deep relaxation and an acoustic stimulation of the bodily organs below the diaphragm. It can work with SSP or alone to promote healing and regulation whilst supporting sleep, digestion, relaxation and supporting the biological cycles that keep us healthy.
How does it work?
It works by synchronising the bodies own psychological rhythms (such as heart rate, circadian rythum, body temperature) whilst enhancing vagal tone. It may be useful in helping those wth a trauma history, sleep disturbances, gut issues, chronic health problems/fatigue and anxiety and depression. It may also be helpful in functional disorders such as chronic neck and back pain, fibromyalgia and irritable bowel syndrome.
The dynamic tempo changes within the listening system are designed to engage your ANS and related visceral organs. This can have a profound effect on behavioural state and emotional well being. It promotes deep relaxation and recovery whilst guiding the ANS into immobilisation without fear; restoring energy and health whilst alleviating feelings of dissassociation and promoting a sense of safety and connection.
FAQ
1. What is the Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP)?
RRP is a sound-based therapeutic system designed to help regulate the nervous system and support deep relaxation, recovery, and emotional balance.
2. How does RRP work?
It uses dynamic audio patterns that interact with the Autonomic Nervous System, helping to synchronise body rhythms such as heart rate, breathing, and circadian cycles.
3. What is RRP used for?
RRP is commonly used to support sleep difficulties, chronic stress, trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, digestive issues, and other stress-related or functional conditions.
4. Can RRP be combined with SSP?
Yes. RRP can be used on its own or in combination with the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), for a comprehensive nervous system support approach. However it is better to begin with one protocol so that any side effects are noted.
5. What benefits may RRP provide?
RRP may support deeper relaxation, improved sleep quality, reduced stress responses, enhanced vagal tone, and a greater sense of safety and internal regulation.
I offer the Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP) as a specialised designed package to support deep nervous system regulation and recovery. With the RRP Package we will work with the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) to encourage relaxation, restore balance, and support the body’s natural healing processes.
Whilst listening to carefully structured sound patterns and rhythmic changes, RRP helps align internal biological rhythms such as heart rate and circadian cycles. This process can promote calm, improve sleep, support digestion, and enhance emotional and physical wellbeing.
RRP can be used independently or alongside the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), depending on your individual needs and ANS.
